May 28 - June 11 2007. Christos
Hatzis will be the composer-in-residence with the Scotia Festival of Music
in Halifax, Nova Scotia. There will be a number of his chamber and
orchestral works presented at the festival including Tongue Of a newly created
percussion concerto for percussionists Evelyn Glennie and Beverley Johnston,
a joint commission by the Scotia Festival of Music and the Vancouver
Symphony Orchestra. Two separate premieres of Tongues of Fire will take
place: one featuring Beverley Johnston as soloist at the Scotia Festival of
Music with the Festival Orchestra (conductor TBA), and one featuring Evelyn
Glennie as soloist with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra under the direction
of Bramwell Tovey in Vancouver sometime during the 2007-08 season.

Nikos Kouroupakis, Erofili and Dimitris Yfantis, joined their voices and
