Globe Entertainment Bio…
Globe Entertainment/Encore Productions was founded in 1983 by its current president, Kosta Kantzoglou, and has successfully instilled itself as a frontrunner in Greek live event production in North America ever since. In time, Globe extended its scope through management and representation of esteemed international artists and through successful productions and presentations of theater, dance and variety shows in venues ranging from the Radio City Music Hall to the Roy Thomson Theater to the highly esteemed Metropolitan Opera House in NYC. Till this day there has not been a more successful one night ethnic concert held at Radio City Music Hall, since Globe’s 1999 production of George Dalaras with Katerina Kouka. Additionally, Globe is the first and only Greek production company to have received recognition and accolades by leading industry organizations, including Pollstar, Billboard Magazine and the International Promoters of America (IPA). Globe has always put an equal focus on artist management and live-event production, linking the two main areas of the entertainment industry. Through its managerial efforts Globe has managed the careers of highly esteemed international artists with success, reaching major career accomplishments for them. The longest lasting and most important managerial relationship has been with George Dalaras and has lasted for over 25 years. From 2000 to 2005 Globe, in partnership with Miles Copeland, managed the career of international crossover tenor sensation Mario Frangoulis. In 2006, Globe merged its forces with legendary American artist manager Bill Aucoin, to form Aucoin Globe Management, an artist management company focused on Rock and Pop music acts.
Globe’s most significant managerial accomplishments:
· Since 1983 Globe has developed the international career of George Dalaras, Greece’s most important artist of the past 30 years. Globe has managed to create an international career for him with Global recognition and collaborations with esteemed international artists and numerous successful tours in North America and around the world. A collaboration with world-renowned guitarist Al Di Meola on Dalara’s “Latin” album in 1987, and another collaboration with Sting on the song “Mad About You”, are both credited to Globe and its president, Kosta Kantzoglou.
· Co-management of international tenor Mario Frangoulis from 2000 to 2005. In these five years, Globe along with Miles Copeland were able to catapult his career to international success. Two globally released records through SONY Classical with total sales of over 750,000, a two hour PBS special, and a very successful collaboration with Moody Blues singer, Pete Townsend on a remake of the hit song “Nights in White Satin”, are the highlights of Globe’s accomplishments while working with this artist.
· Aucoin Globe’s most important accomplishments were achieved while working with Lordi, a Finish theatrical rock group that won the Eurovision song contest in 2006. From 2006 until 2009, Aucoin Globe was able to accomplish major achievements for the group in North America highlighted by the group’s co-headlining appearance on the Ozzfest tour nationally. A major merchandising deal and a record deal with The End Records that yielded two CD releases in the US, were the other major accomplishments achieved for this group.
After Bill Aucoin’s serious illness and subsequent passing in 2010, Aucoin Globe dissolved and Globe branched once again out on its own. To separate the company’s dual operations the company split into two divisions, productions and artist management, and has since 2009 once again placed itself on the forefront of Greek and ethnic live event productions in North America, while also continuing to look for ways to successfully manage the careers of numerous artists in the ever-changing entertainment industry. This new decade finds Globe doing what it knows to do best: producing quality live art events, opening the industry to new and emerging artists, developing new career options for existing artists and reinventing the industry in whole. With a new office location in Astoria’s newly baptized Kaufman Arts District -with our actual office being within the actual historic Kaufman Studios- extended partnerships with professionals all over the world and a new agenda to push the worldwide live performing industry toward a new direction, Globe is looking into the future with great momentum and conviction for its abilities and plans for the future.
